From filming underwater to depth of 9000ft (1.7 mile, 2750m ) or filming explosions, rocket launches, building demolitions, etc, Abysso is made to be at the heart of the action, regardless of how brutal the environment is. This is THE camera housing for extreme depth and extreme filming conditions. Suffice to say, we wanted to create a housing that would be the toughest one we've ever made. There are plenty of reviewers on YouTube who will offer their honest opinions ( Iphonedo is one of our favorites.) If you are a professional user and do not have a camera yet, we would strongly recommend taking a look at this new camera. In our opinion, the FDR-x3000 is the new leader in image quality for action cam. This in turn allows for very crisp videos as well as being able to pull out details out of each frame in post production. The higher the bit rate, the more information is captured in each frame. Also, the FDR-X3000 offers a 100 megabit rate in 4K/30FPS. Moreover, the low light performance is the best we have seen in any action cams. This system is unique in the "action camera" industry. The BOSS system (Balanced Optical SteadyShot) is an optical stabilizer that allows the user to shoot in stabilized 4K resolution. Sony's new action camera the FDR-x3000 has been making waves in the professional film making industry for very good reasons. This feature opens a whole range of options for very long term time-lapse sessions. One of the features we really liked about this camera is that it turns on/off automatically when an external power source is hooked up via the USB port. Murphy's Law still applies underwater and while reviewing the footage of something of interest, you will invariably wished you had had a second camera deployed at another angle. Overall, the video footage obtained from this camera is very good. This camera will not match the top tier action cams in absolute terms, but you can get two of these GB Git2 cameras, and still have $100 left over to buy your significant other dinner and flowers to make up for the inordinate time you've spent filming underwater critters.Īnother tangible point to consider about exploration is that it is ALWAYS better to have two cameras underwater instead of one. As that industry matured, we did find an action camera that is an excellent cost effective alternative with features that did not exist on the other action cams. I have no idea what that is.Ever since Point of View (POV) action cameras went mainstream, we have tested dozens of models from various manufacturers over the years and the vast majority of them aren't that good. ![]() I also noticed a tiny white spec dancing around in the picture. It's almost like it's losing focus every now and then like what happens with auto focus but that can't be. ![]() Ive just checked the bitrate of this file and it's quite high. I was shooting at 2k, 30fps.Įdit: I can't be the bitrate. The quad was mainly hovering and not doing quick, sudden movements. I was wondering if it was due to the slow 1/60th shutter speed, the bitrate or some kind of compression the camera is using. And now and then, there was a sudden drop in sharpness and the picture went soft and mushy temporarily, then went sharp again. I had the GitUp mounted to a quadcopter which was hovering over grass. Though there was something weird and off putting I noticed. I must say that overall, the image quality is quite good. I ended up placing the micro sd card in a card reader and this was recognised by the laptop.
